As if selecting, cropping, editing, and uploading one of many social network avatar images wasn’t easy enough, mypictr enters the scene with a unique set of online tools to make the process even more streamlined.

mypictr provides a free picture resizing service, which allows you to create a custom profile avatar for your favorite social network. You don’t need to install any programs, plug-ins or any other software, just upload your picture, resize it online and download it from our server.

In all honesty, mypictr is not much different from your standard web based image editor / cropping tool(s). The only difference is that the service is marketed toward social network users who probably may not have already heard of something like Snipshot. Mypictr allows users to upload a large picture, crop and resize, and download a smaller version to re-upload to any number of social networking sites.

No real props coming from me unless the service plugged into popular social networking sites and updated your avatars automatically after saving the edits. Unfortunately, for that to happen, each popular service would need to offer some type of public facing API to play nicely. And we all know such a thing coming from MySpace would most likely hint at the world having froze over.
