I feel like I'm turning into Comic Book Guy, but I'm full of scorn for this trailer. Looks like your average over-hyped CGI-based action movie. I was a big fan of the Transformers when in the 80s, and I'm willing to have an open mind, but:

a) In the original series, the robots were the main characters. They talked, they had personalities. In the trailer, none of them talked at all...they seem to be just fighting, fighting, fighting. And ...growling...?

b) I don't like the look of the new robots.. They don't look anything like the machines they are supposed to be changing from, they're all just hydraulic pipes and tubes and have weird lumpy crap sticking off of them. Just because you have CGI, doesn't mean you have to redesign everything and make it more complicated. What the hell is up with the new Megatron?

<a href="http://www.daltonrooney.com/files/transformers.jpg" rel="nofollow">Here's a comparison</a> of the old aesthetic vs. the new. Sorry, but the 80s Transformers were way better.

Okay, let me get this straight. The robot leaps into the air, transforms into an F22 Raptor, and flies away. Then, maybe later, it comes into a street, banks sharply like it's stalling, but then transforms back into the robot and lands crunching things in the process?

That's just two shots in the trailer. Image a whole movie of that.

(insert hyperventilation here)
