And you though I was kidding when I encouraged MacBook owner to buy a fire retardant case! A German Macbook owner left the Macbook unattended when watching a movie and apparently the Macbook got so hot that it actually began to melt. Yes, MELT! Wonder if this is covered under Apple’s warranty?

Maybe the location cause a problem too? I’ve been turning on my Macbook for days and watching TV, doing graphic, listening music non-stop, though it is VERY hot, but didn’t melt?

Has to be the temperature of the room. I have left my black MacBook running with a paused DVD in Front Row. Had no problem with temperature.

However, my MacBook Pro gets extremely hot after 20 mins use, especially above the keyboard.

Or maybe they are defective and get too hot. duh.

Well, I better watch out then :P I have an original MB, Core Duo, 2GB RAM. It runs EXTREMELY hot when doing anything for more than 15 minutes, and I can’t use it on my lap because it literally burnt my left thigh. It also makes a strange noise with the fan.

I just hope it doesn’t melt.
