Hey Movie Studios: That PG rating just went up in a puff of smoke just as your lead character took a nice drag on a cigarette.

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) today announced that it would consider raising a movies ratings to ‘R’ if there is any smoking featured. In the past, illegal teen smoking, sex, violence and adult language has been a factor in the rating of films.

WHA? Does anybody even pay attention to movie ratings anymore?

what a joke. hurts the box office for movies when they get bumped to an R.

I don’t think bumping a G rating up to a PG is too bad if there is smoking in the movie but certainly not an R rating. Thats a little excessive.

Well if that’s the case then any movie where someone has a guns should be bumped up to an R rating because guns kill people too. Hell, some people can’t even take the death of a character, be it good guy, bad guy, or useless extra, any movie with death should be upped to NC-17 for good measure…

stupid people, if i smoked, i would so blow smoke in the faces of the people who made this decision, but alas, i don’t. Maybe i should take it up though, since movies have such a huge influence on my life according to the MPAA…
