New Apple Ads Online
This post was published 2 years 10 months 13 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.Watch out Apple, you should not be talking about delayed operating systems when you just delayed 10.5. Also, I am TIRED of the “Get a Mac” ad series – How about “Get a new Ad agency”
You just have to remember that the ads aren’t meant for you and me and the majority of people who read sites like this… but for Joe Consumer who might think they’re worthy of a chuckle during the commercial break of Survivor (or whatever). I’m sure the people they have making these ads are running market research and finding that they are effective at getting “the message” out.
To be honest. Apple is really handing their product very efficiently. Unlike Microsoft, for them, it’s been nearly 6 years since an OS release. They kept making promises and breaking promises. Apple clearly has not done this, they pushed back the leopard release a couple months. I honestly don’t think the delay affects anything. Tiger still has allot of life left in it.
An update is nice, I personally can wait a couple more months. I think it’s best, it’ll give apple to refine and polish the OS. Apple usually does a good job with their releases, they are usually superb. Leopard will definitely be worth the wait.
I was getting slightly tired of the “Get a Mac” ads too, but this batch is a bit better than others of late.
I have to admit, when I watched “Choose a Vista,” I had to laugh. Especially at the end.
I think they’re still pretty funny, though getting old. But I’d rather them be long lived than the “Switcher” ads from the past. Those were annoying I thought.
I think apple isnt trying to poke fun at the delay but rather the fact that not only is there a delay but the requirements for vista are large.
The ads are getting annoying. Apple needs to find another idea to run into the ground. At first, they were funny and a bit cute, but now they’re just becoming overworked. One would think that such a clever and innovative company of Apple wouldn’t do such a thing, but hey, what do we know, we’re just the consumers.
Releases of their OS aren’t quite such a big deal as releases of Microsoft’s, as well. Between OS 9 and OS X, yes, there were massive changes, but since then, things have been very minor, and they’re still working off of BSD Unix as they had been before, and OS that they didn’t have to build from the ground up, in the first place.
Also, the wide spacing of OS releases just *might* be a good thing: think about it, how often do you want to shell out enough cash to upgrade the operating system? On a Mac, you’re nearly forced to, as each subsequent upgrade of OS X makes the previous ones obsolete on the developments side, so software writers don’t keep supporting them. On a PC, you can keep using the same operating system for years, getting free service pack upgrades and such when needed.
I’m not just praising Microsoft and their stuff, but Mac fanboys just get ridiculous.
I think its slowly hurting apples image, instead of being a better computer, it starts to come across as a sort of bitterness, or a tad bit cheeky. I love apple, and I love PC. I have one of both (and vista) and I am quite happy with it. Overal however, I am a little warn out with apple trying to sell product by bashing PC’s.. when instead their comercials should sell what the apple has that the PC doesnt.. How about a commercial about final cut studio, or aperature.. heck even partner with adobe and spit out an illustrator commercial… who knows… Just seems this ad campaign is already getting old.

agreed.
i think apple should focus on showing why macintosh is a better choice
than making fun of vista all the time, it was funny at first
but then it started to make an idea of
“because vista is bad, i am good”
i think their ads should have something like a fast-forwarded clip of creating an imovie, or a website with iweb,
showing that macintosh works fine without need to getscared of using it
I think if you are offended, it’s because you know it’s true. I have been a Mac head for years, just after Microsucks released XP x64. I loved XP, until I used OSX. I started with 10.2 and moved up as I got new machines. Now I have a 24″ iMac. The ads are on point…
Have you tried Vista???? Microsoft stole imagry from apple, like the live search icon (a 90 degree rotation of spotlight) widgets (called them something else) and many other “innovations” as the king of all thieves Slick Willy Gates calls them. I know why it took so long for Vista to debut…. It gave the Microsoft team time enough to copy OSX and put there name on it, just like the beginning of Microsoft.
Microsoft has a bad habit of trying to reverse engineer everything someone else does, and make it theirs… The problem with this is that they lose touch with what the consumer wants. When I sign on to my email, and enter my name and address, I don’t want windows XPee or vista to ask if it is okay to go to this password, as I gave it permission by entering my f’n password. Everything is like this in windows…
My mac lets me do what I want, when I want it. It has more power than I can tax, and it is more cost effective than the comparable PC… And now that I can run your operating system you love so much, I have no reason to use someone elses hardware, and third party software, just to make a DVD, or email my friends…
If you hate the commercials, fine, but go spend an hour in a mac store, and tell me you really hate the product… If you can find one thing you hate about it, I’ll be surprised.
