Blamo! From a not to secret source, Lou Wheeler, here is a screenshot showing what the desktop of an Apple CSR looks like (the reps use eMacs). For those keeping score Apple uses GCRM/PS8 as their customer database tool. It runs in Safari and NOTHING else (I think that is a web first) and is very Java script heavy which makes browsing other websites difficult – but it seems Lou has no problems with that.
Normally I would tell Lou to take cover in a storm basement to hide from the wrath of Jobs, but he is no longer employed with the company so he might be safe.

also… I find it slightly funny that the employee at hand prefers firefox but uses safari when interacting with the CRM software
Yeah we use PeopleSoft 8 as well at my Job…. Kinda weird that they would leave all the iApps and such still installed though?

That is PeopleSoft/Oracle CRM. It runs on every browser.. Better on some than others (IE is particularly troublesome).
When you search for your repair status, you are also looking at PeopleSoft. The application itself does not run on OS X – the back end is BEA Tuxedo and Oracle databae (that does run on OS X). My guess is that their application servers are Sun…

Yeah, that comment about GCRM running in Safari only? Not true. I use Firefox 2 as my browser of choice for GCRM.
They’d have to leave the iApps and stuff installed…if you call up the techs likely need to run ‘em to do troubleshooting.
