Software maker Microsoft Corp and trivial internet player asked Yahoo Inc. to re-enter formal negotiations for an acquisition that could be worth $50 billion. No word of how much of the deal would be cash vs. stock, or if Yahoo would even return to the table. If the acquisition happens, it could give search leader Google a run for their money.
I prefer Microhoo! Sounds like a Dr. Seuss character but a nice one, or a mean one?
Yahoo! would be retarded to do this… unless they keep their name and get rights to use MS assets or something… and also keep full control… they ARE one of the largest web names and leading the cutting edge in large corporate sites as far as rich media, news, and features.
I honestly hope this falls out… keep your MS off my Yahoo!
If Yahoo sold out to Microsoft, we would know all they stood for was greed. But, I’m pretty sure they stand for better things than greed. Besides, the backlash of such a deal alone would tarnish the Yahoo brand. Microsoft should be taken over, not Yahoo. Yahoo would be gutted and turned into the craptastic “Microsoft Yahoo Web Stuff 2008″ if bought by Microsoft. Yet, if Microsoft was bought by Yahoo or anyone else, it might actually start to make “good” software and cease to be a cancer of the modern age.
I personally hope the stocks run down, on my website that is.
About 5 months ago i bought the domain yahoosoft.co.uk just for the hell of it, and because it was there, like they say :-)
Anyhow i tried to park it on sedo but was stopped by the sedo copywrite bot, so i left it to gather dust in my fasthost account. After the recent microsoft thing i had a thought. Who could sue me for using that domain name, microsoft ?, yahoo ?, both?
