Murdoch and News Corp. Want the Wall Street Journal

News Corporation (Popular for MySpace and Fox News) has offered a $5 billion bid for Dow Jones (of the stock exchange and CNBC fame), to aquire the Wall Street Journal. This offer was completely unsolicited, and although Dow Jones has previously rebuffed buyout offers this $5 billion bid may spark other media conglomerates to make offerers possibly enticing a sale.

The only paper News Corp.’s owns in the US is the New York Post (and all New Yorkers know that that paper is a tribute to fine journalism). Stories like this just confirm that the news is controlled by huge corporations in the US.
