Unbelievable, rare; unassisted triple-play
Nothing like an unassisted triple-play to get a stadium on its feet. Historically, only 13 prior triple-plays had been recorded making this event a sure jaw dropper for anyone in attendance. Find out more on the Official Major League website.
Rookie shortstop Troy Tulowitzki gave the Coors Field crowd something to cheer about Sunday, once they recovered their dropping jaws.
In the top of the seventh inning of a tied game, with runners on first and second, nobody out, and the count full, Chipper Jones hit a line drive at Tulowitzki, who snared the ball in flight, stepped on second to double up Kelly Johnson, and tagged Edgar Renteria between first and second for an unassisted triple play.
Oh yeah? I remember this one time in little league when my brother tried to catch a baseball in right field with his nose… Can you top that?

wow… I wish I could see a video of this
Stupid question from a foreign land, what is a triple play? :-)
yeah this is definately something the league should put online

thanks guys :D
found it on youtube but the DCMA cronies made em pull it ;)
Im not really sure what all this excitement is. Yes its only been done a dozen or so times but thats only based on circumstance. Not really anything else.
Tulowitzki made a nice catch but other than that, there wasn’t much to it. The runner on second and first took off running before Tulowitzki had a chance to catch it. And when he did, it was just a simple step and tag.
