Microsoft is reportedly paying large business customers to use “Live Search” as their preferred search engine. Of course the use of Internet Explorer 7 is required for participation in the program.
Using the “all’s fair in love and search engine wars” they will pay-out $2 to $10 per PC annually, plus a $25,000 “enrollment credit” for starting the program. For large organizations, this could add up to a measureable impact on the IT budget: Microsoft presented examples of “Company A” and “Company B” earning between $100,000 and $200,000 per year.
