Froogle is dead, long live Google Product Search. Yesterday Google dumped the Froogle brand and launched “Google Product Search” in its place. Sporting a new redesign results from the “Product Search” will also pop up in Google search results.

    Yeah, I really don’t get this. Froogle was a great brand and had the usual Google charm. I know it didn’t scream its function, but there was no reason to dump it for something so sterile. What the hell does Amazon have to do with book and whatnot? It’s a brand and Froogle is definitely one that’s out there. I know people who use “Froogle” as a verb just like they do “Google.” So now they’re going to “Google Product Search it”?

    i always thought froogle was a dumb name, but now Product Search seems a lot dumber.

    why would they do this???
    the interface is much worse…refine product search categories are listed on the bottom…they were more convenient up on top
    grrr
