Gmail users on Apple? Mailplane is integrates nicely

Posted in Apple, Downloadable, Tech by Derek at 3:45 pm

Are you an existing Gmail user who also happens to be looking for better integration with your Apple computing experience? Check out Mailplane, it does what Apple Mail can do without the need to configure a POP3 / IMAP account. Mailplane makes your Gmail account your default email address and client allowing you to use all of those handy email this page, or email this photo functions that currently exist in your OS X work flow.

Although the application is currently a private beta, Ruben is accepting inquiries from interested beta testers. For additional information and a sneak at what the current build offers, check out my thoughts. Personally, I no longer worry about Gmail crawling my emails. If Google finds something juicy in the body of a private email, more power to them. At least I’ll get some accurate advertisements targeted for my needs.

Due to the fact that Mailplane requires a working internet connection in order to access your email, will this play a significant factor concerning whether or not you would make the switch from a client like Apple Mail?

Neat idea, but I’m not sure why this is inovative. I agree with ALEJ744’s sentiment; additionally, it seems this app is re-inventing the wheel. As an aside… did that video make anyone dizzy? Yikes!
