No More Free Calls For You

Qwest and AT&T have had their fill of “free” calling service and are now blocking access to FreeConference.com who was providing free conference calls because of loopholes in Iowa laws. Obviously the success of the service invoked the ire of the big guys so the big guys blocked access.

Quest and AT&T argue that they can block access to certainnumbers if in their opinion, they are experiencing excessive billing, collection, fraud problems or other misuse of our network. Now they say its for the protection of the consumer from ‘900′ number fraud. I say it is a big company realizing they have a flawed business model and punishing a small company because they operate better.

    ok this is taking the “flawed business model” excuse to far. ATT doesn’t have a flawed business model as compared to this company they just have GIGANTIC BILLS to pay, they build a network for you to gab on and they, oddly enough, have to charge to support that network and its expantions and maintanence fiber isn’t indestructable.

    I think its rediculous they blocked them and it should be illegal its scary and sets a VERY scary precident, but come on flawed business model? Your comparing apples to eggs.
