Affordable Solid State Memory HDD
Hey Kids, the days of drooling over the thought of owning a solid state hard drive may be over.
At CeBit SanDisk announced their intentions to ship a solid state 32GB 2.5″ drive for only $350 (which mind is you still EXPENSIVE for a 32GB drive but MUCH CHEAPER then the previously announced $600 price tag for a 1.8″ model)
For those out of the know the 2.5″ form factor is important is because it is the same size as the disks in laptops, and is being designed as a replacement Serial ATA (SATA) drive – which means you can simply swap out your old energy sucking and heat producing 5400rpm or 7200rpm drive and get increased laptop runtime.

This is finally the drive that will not fail!
I am dead scared of losing my laptop’s hard drive. I have to backup all the time.
i like that whole ssd idea.
but i know hardly anyone who might want to use 32gb in his laptop.
Eh, I still have a 40gb, but I use my desktop more than anything.
I need a new HD for my (indigo) iBook. It sounds like a microwave right now :|
I wish this could fit into an ipod video ^_^ that would be sweet
unless something has changed sold state memory still has a limited about of writes doesn’t it?
