You know what photographers say about lenses don’t you? All you ever really need is a 50mm f/1.4 and a 200-500mm! Maybe I have that wrong? Either way, this lens screams "I’m miles away from you but I can still see lint in your belly button". Excessive piece of photography equipment isn’t it? DPreview [via] has the scoop on the details of this massive lens. Go ahead, pretend as those this were one of those gadgets that you could honestly ask "how much?"
You should see the one Zeiss built for Photokina. 1700mm f/4 far surpasses this lens, though I’m pretty sure you have to crap solid gold in order to afford it.

The Sigma lens though should be affordable by some mere mortals.
