Watchout Google SMS, Here comes MYSBUX

Starbucks is hoping to help feed your over prices coffee caffeine craving by enabling anew SMS powered store locator. When you send a text message with the ZIP code of your location to the number “MYSBUX” (697289), you’ll get a text back with the nearest stores location. This service won’t cost you anything besides two text messaging charges.

Two problems though. Usually when you are lost, you don’t know the zipcode of the area you are lost in, also if you are in a major metro area (like I am) there is more of a chance you’ll find a Starbucks faster by walking up a block. Seriously, by UNEASYheadquarters there are EIGHT Starbacks in a 2 block radius.

While the MYSBUX service sounds cool, wouldn’t it be even cooler if you could order and pay from your mobile phone and skip the line when you got to Starbucks? Checkout http://www.gomobo.com and this piece from Good Morning America (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDv-LDyBbk0)
