Media Fork, a “updated” rendition of every Mac OS X users favorite video ripping utility Handbrake, has merged back into the Handbrake family.

On the official Handbreak blog (Don’t you Love when quasi legal software has it’s own blog) they announce the next public beta release will be called indeed be called HandBrake – most likely, version 0.9.0 beta 1 and should be expected to be released in the next 2-3 weeks.

    This utility will most definitely be ever more popular in the coming months as Apple releases its Apple TV.

    Has anyone noticed that the color/gamut/whatever you want to call it from the iTMS videos are dull compared to those from minonova or Piratebay?
    I’m not talking about resolution, just the “vibrance” of the colors.
    They all look rather bad on any of my computers, despite Apple’s 1.5Mbps datarate.
    Videos I encode myself with Quiktime Pro look brilliant though. Not sure what is going on.
