Yesterday, I was checking to see if ABC had updated its Desperate Housewives episodes and noticed a new update. Windows and OS X users can now view episodes in full-screen. In order to use the new feature, you’ll need to install a plugin. Check the screenshots above which I snapped while checking on episodes on OS X. If you’re looking for a few missed episodes, check out ABC’s online episodes.
Nice that they’re supporting Mac (I suppose it could have something to do with Steve owning serious shares in Disney, which owns ABC). So many times, OS X is completely left out of the equation with these things.
I don’t use a Mac (yet…), but that is nice to see. I’ve watched TV shows online from all of the major networks, and I have to say that ABC has the others beat hands down (full disclosure: I’m a webmaster at a FOX affiliate).
I haven’t upgraded to the new player yet, but I will. Typically, I really dislike it when a company makes me download software and/or sign up for an account just to use part of their site, but I was so impressed by the “old” player, that I won’t hesitate to sign up and download for the new one.
They only make it look like they support Mac — the new player does NOT install on OSX like it promises. Haven’t been able to view episodes since they took down the old player. They’re not responding to complaints.
