@Jason: They stopped doing that that. Now they only send it out if the user requests it. I send one out every 6 months. I know a few people that don't even bother sending out update requests they just do it all by phone ... that way people don't get the "spam" from plaxo.

Plaxo one of those annoying web sites that sends you spam whenever one of your idiot friends puts your email address into their Plaxo address book. "please confirm your address" blah blah blah. It may be useful but it's hugely annoying.

@STUFF

Ironically one of the "upsale" features of Plaxo membership is "Fix and Merge duplicate entries"

I actually had to use the plaxo service once myself to fix a similar problem caused partially by their free service.

P.S. in my case it was user error (not some hush hush trick to get users)

I sure am. I sync my Plaxo on my Macs, PC, Linux box, as well as my PocketPC Phone(T-Mobile MDA) even though I use a Smartphone(T-Mobile Dash) now I use plaxo on the mac to import into ShoZu. Been using Plaxo for years now and before that I had to constantly export my contacts and carry around with me or email myself a copy and then import it into each computer/device which was not fun.
