Mac Address Book syncing with Plaxo
Luc recently pointed out the fact that Plaxo offers a syncing utility that will ensure you have full access to contacts in your address book no matter what client you’re currently using. Plaxo offers a menu bar utility that will automatically sync your contacts with the Plaxo toolbar – ensuring access to vital contacts via Thunderbird, Outlook, Outlook Express, and even internet browsers.
You can download the OS X menu bar utility directly from Plaxo. Registration is required in order to utilize the software. Plaxo offers a wide variety of address book accessibility solutions on their downloads page.
Are any of our readers utilizing Plaxo for their contact management? If not, how do you access contacts on multiple machines?

The only problem is that it doubles the entries in the address book :( It’s pretty buggy :(
I sure am. I sync my Plaxo on my Macs, PC, Linux box, as well as my PocketPC Phone(T-Mobile MDA) even though I use a Smartphone(T-Mobile Dash) now I use plaxo on the mac to import into ShoZu. Been using Plaxo for years now and before that I had to constantly export my contacts and carry around with me or email myself a copy and then import it into each computer/device which was not fun.
@STUFF MC – I have never had Double entries in my Address Book.
@STUFF
Ironically one of the “upsale” features of Plaxo membership is “Fix and Merge duplicate entries”
I actually had to use the plaxo service once myself to fix a similar problem caused partially by their free service.
P.S. in my case it was user error (not some hush hush trick to get users)
Plaxo one of those annoying web sites that sends you spam whenever one of your idiot friends puts your email address into their Plaxo address book. “please confirm your address” blah blah blah. It may be useful but it’s hugely annoying.
@Jason: They stopped doing that that. Now they only send it out if the user requests it. I send one out every 6 months. I know a few people that don’t even bother sending out update requests they just do it all by phone … that way people don’t get the “spam” from plaxo.
