Leave voice notes for yourself with Backpack & CellTell voiceNotes
This post was published 3 years 29 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. For the past few days, I’ve managed to successfully make note of important reminders or tasks using audio notes that I take throughout the day. Although most cellphones these days offer some type of note taking application, being able to open your browser at home in order to listen to audio recordings through the computer is far more productive (calendar, note taking, tasks, and banking applications).
How do I do this? Thanks to the powerful and free 37signals Backpack web application (paid upgrades available), I have a special page set up titled "mobile notes". Any reminders, tasks, or audible notes that I send from my phone – via sms, email, or phone call – are collected on this page. In a hybrid GTD flow, I filter through this page on a nightly basis ensuring that nothing is forgotten [hopefully].
In order to do this yourself, you’ll need a Backpack account (referral link), and a CellTell voiceNotes account. Both accounts are free. I’ve exchanged emails with Ali Daniali, the founder of voiceNotes. Let me tell you, Ali is all about service. Audio notes are displayed as individual Flash powered notes on within your Backpack account allowing you to listen to each note separately.
So what tips do you have for staying organized. With so many different tools at our disposal, there really is not reason to say "I forgot".
