The industries worst kept secret, the BlackBerry 8800, has officially been announced. Same full keyboard as other BB models, but it sports a new glowing pearl displacing the famous click wheel.

It is ultra thin at 0.6 inches and 4.7 ounces and features built-in GPS, microSD slot, a media player, high-contrast 320×240 display, voice dialing, quad-band GSM/GPRS, and *cough* EDGE *cough*. Unlike the Pearl this model does not have a camera.

    Oh you know I’m loving this announcement. My 8703e has taken some serious tumbles and I know it’s feeling a little more neglected now that the 8800 has been announced.

    But then you will need GSM – and don’t even think about it until you can get unlimited texting on Cingulatt!

    It will come to CDMA… Some day. Just like any other product that Sprint is slow to pick-up.

    And that word “unlimited”.. Has lost all of it’s true meaning with recent news. Someone is going to need to provision all dictionaries around the world as corporations force the definition to mean something else completely.
