Cruel mother locks children away for 7-years

Stories like this make you wonder what goes through a parents mind allowing them to continue doing what they’re doing.
Three girls who were imprisoned by their mother in a house of indescribable filth for seven years may never recover from the ordeal, experts said last night.
The girls were shut away from the outside world, existing in almost complete darkness, playing only with mice and communicating in their own language.
When they were discovered, their home in a smart, upper middle-class suburb had no running water and was filled with waste and excrement a metre high. The floor was corroded by mice urine.
The children may be so traumatized that they may never recover from the ordeal – which is just saddening.
How could the pile of excrement be 1 meter high? So whenever they had to take a dump, they would climb on top of the pile of feces? That doesn’t seem to make sense.
JM: they may have been taught to throw it in the corner, poop, pick it up, throw in corner / poop area.
That’s really disgusting
And what??? That monster-mother will only face between five months and five years in prison??? I say at least 21 years in the same place where she kept her daughters.
JM – im sure the poop had time to dry, that would definitely allow you to climb up top.
Anyway, this story makes me think of the movie black christmas…
I’m not one to disbelieve a story, but there is something fishy about the 1m high poop.
i agree it does sound weird.. but they wer ein there for 7 years… i totally believe that it can stack that high in 7 years specially since it was more then one person
5 months to 5 years?! How can the mother be punished for any less than she punished her children for?!

so how do you convince 3 girls to drop all ties to their social networks, renounce cleanliness, and squash their ability to escape?
Well no one ever said they exactly went along with this. I can only imagine the abuse that was inflicted on these poor girls. Mental and physical.
