Space, the next littered frontier

According to the NYTimes, space is the next frontier being littered with garbage. "There are more than 3,100 spacecraft orbiting Earth. Two thirds of these are no longer active.".
At least when the earth becomes inhabitable and man has to migrate to the vast, unknown space..us mechanical engineers would have the flurry of jobs we deserve so much after reading so much crap compared to other engineering principles ;) Then we would be the lord of the flies, alien flies sucking on space debris that is.
I take it you mean UNinhabitable? lol
They are not only destroying the planet they are doing the same for space.
