Michael Dell Returns to Top Spot at Dell
Kevin Rollins is out. After two terrible years of performance, and the loss of the number one computer manufacturer spot to HP Michael Dell has returned to the helm of the company that bears his name.
“This is not a short-term assignment,” said Bob Pearson, a Dell spokesman. Dell will immediately retake control of the PC company he founded in 1984 and will retain his duties as chairman of the board of directors.
Rollins will immediately step down from the board of directors as well, yielding all power. Amid this announcement Dell also mentioned that it now expects its fourth-quarter results to be below analyst expectations for both revenue and earnings per share.
Hopefully, this will set Dell back on the right track with Lenovo nipping at its heals.
