If there is one novelty of the internet that has grown into nothing more than an irritating conundrum, it’s Snap thumbnail link previews.

Snap link thumbnail preview

I’m sure we’ve all chanced upon a site that has the annoying Snap functionality littering every possible link in the page. Although some may find the functionality of previewing a small thumbnail worthwhile and valuable in regards to enhancing your personal internet browsing experience, I hate them.

If I’m going to click on a link, I know I want to click on a link. There is no need for a thumbnail to be forced into a users view. Hell, half the time I see sites littered with these Snap thumbnails, most aren’t even cached yet meaning the link is blank.

If you share the same annoyed disgust that I have for the thumbnails, check out this browser cookie which will safeguard you from having to view those pesky little thumbnails while browsing. Note that this is a cookie. If you delete it, you will need to load the cookie again in order to prevent links from being “snapped”.

god I hate those… its like “oh here have a tiny tiny preview of the page you’d be going to if you click this” … wow… if that isn’t the most pointless feature ever…. it’s good for google listings via a well placed FF extension… but other than that… pointless

Notice the little underlined word “Options”? Click that, then click “ALL sites” under “Bubble Opt Out”. I’m sure this is where they got the cookie hack from. =)

I also hate those things… don’t know why people is using that, it’s like a MySpace feature…
