MP3tunes.com – Your music everywhere?

How does unlimited storage for your music library sound? How about if that storage was online meaning that you could access your library from any computer with a suitable broadband connection? Sound enticing? MP3tunes offers just that type of service catered to both Windows, Linux, & OS X users.
How does the service work? Replacing your current music player / file organizing utility with Oboe software, users are able to sync local music libraries with an online “locker”. This very same locker can be accessed via MP3tunes from any internet terminal. Listening to your streaming content is as simple as loading the stream into something like iTunes, Windows Media Player, or Quicktime.
MP3tunes lockers support MP3, MP4, M4A, M4P, AAC, WMA, OGG, AIF, AIFF and MIDI files.
There just must be a catch somewhere… Sounds too good to be true
It looks nice, but it would probably get tedious to upload constantly.

But he said something about syncing. Does that mean… no. It can’t be. That would be too good to be true.
Wow, I’m having flashbacks to MP3.com and Beamer. Of course, this sounds even better as it won’t rely upon a dreadfully limited library of recognized discs.
Now to check the file size limit and see how annoying the audio, video, and text ads are…
Okay, so free equals a max of 1,000 songs, 10MB/song, 3 syncing PCs, and 10 sync music playlists. Oh, and ads.
It’s $39.95/year to get the (mostly) unlimited plan.
Still, maybe this will motivate me to finally rip my CDs. Heck, I hear N!xau now has an iPod Nano, so I’m really quite behind.
I’ve been using this service for a month now and it is absolutely free. The only down side is that depending on how many songs you want to sync, it will take a long time.
You have unlimited amount of storage but if you want to sync to more than 3 computers, thats when they will charge you.
I haven’t found any catch yet – mp3tunes is pretty cool service! I sync my mp3’s there to listen them anywhere I have internet access. It’s great online storage!! Some time a go a CD cover art window appeared to the webpage so I guess they will feature CD covers for selected artist/tracks.
There is also a winamp plugin and I recently got the new Nokia N800 internet tablet and they have playback app for that too.
