Still have some burning questions regarding the iPhone? We can help!
David Pogue has created an exhaustive iPhone FAQ, which is located here and here, to quench the thirst of the curious. But, if you are not yet satisfied David has offered to answer any UNEASYsilence readers questions regarding Apple’s newest announcement.
So, If you have anything to ask drop your question in the comments and Pogeman will give his best stab at it.
I believe you mentioned that only your fingertip works on the screen, does that mean that you can not use a screen protector?
I have a few questions:
1. In the keynote we can see the keys “typewrite” effect, enlarging when pressed, but do these effect actually occur prior to making contact with the screen? Meaning does the proximity sensor come into play here so that fat finger doesn’t become an issue? Or is it merely after you press the key it enlarges? Hoping there was a functional use for this effect.
2. Jobs mentioned in a recent interview that Apple would be putting more apps on the phone. Any word on if Apple and Skype are working together to make this a certified wi-fi phone? Does that break contract with Cingular?
1. Will there be an easy way to port OS X applications to run on the iPhone. I would like to play my Full Tilt Poker on the iPhone via Wifi when sitting around at the mall waiting for my girlfriend to shop. Will OS X apps run at all on the iPhone?
Will the iPhone be featured as the next iPod? Or will the iPod continue to be a separate line? Also, can we continue to look forward to new iPods, or will the iPod become the iPhone?
I’m personally curious about the headphones. I couldn’t see any direct headphone jack, yet Pogue mentions an integrated microphone in the headphone cord. It would be sweet to have Bluetooth headphones bundled. Perhaps they connect through the dock on the bottom.
@Dylan: I would imagine that the iPod line will continue as normal. Many people don’t want to shell out an additional $50-90/month for just an iPod.
Do we have any other questions? If not I’ll send the post to David tomorrow.
let’s get our paws on it. the answers will follow…

Will the iphone fit the iPod Universal Dock, or do we have to buy another bit of kit?
ehm, btw this is probably called APPLEphone, since LinkSys (Cisco) got the rights to the term “iPhone” …

I REALLY want to buy this phone but the killer app on a mobile phone for me is Instant messaging (I’m a Blackberry user).
Will this phone have ANY sort of Instant message client (aim, yahoo, or what I really want to see: Google Talk), and is there any indication that this might be something that is added?
I really can’t see buying a phone that I can’t IM with when the SMS area itself looks like iChat already.
