Am I the only one here who likes Trillian? Adium's decent, and I don't like Meebo too much. Astra's not even going to be solely web-based.

I don't think the Astra client will be for OS X, I think it's only the Web client . . .

How about: "Move over Trillian Astra, Meebo's Already Here."

Competition is good, but Meebo already has had a beautiful, highly useable, web-based, Multi-IM client. While I can't compare Astra to Meebo directly, the Astra tour left me wanting and Meebo looks much better to me just in terms of chatting. Although, I am intrigued by Astra's ability to propogate web services and aggregate feeds of various kinds.

If you want the future now:

Adium won't go anywhere. Trillian was nice when it was the only game in town. I'd rather use GAIM on Windows than Trillian now. (although, my wife did like the baby giggle when someone typed LOL, and would send me line after line of it to make my computer go crazy.)

It's generally a bad sign when your program lists "More memory leak fixes!" as a feature.

Hmm, interesting. I used to use Trillian back when I used Windows as my main OS. Last I remember it was quite bloated. Let's hope that won't happen with the Mac version.

We've been waiting for AdiumX for PC, not Trillian for OS X..
Trillian was once set to reign supreme nut snobbed all the non windows user by "we don't need your custom" kinda crap.
That how Adium and all got a kick start. Trillian can now suck my boots. Free or not, it won't be gracing my machine.
