I've tried the whole alarm clock across the room trick. Unfortunately, I discovered that I continued to wake up late. Apparently, I get up, turn off the alarm clock, and return back to sleep.

I have a computer alarm clock that requires me to get out of bed and type a fairly long password that I know, but is hard to type when you're half awake and the music is getting louder. Then I get on and hit snooze and do it again and again until I'm fringe late/late like Chad.

I have to put my alarm clock on the other side of the room in a high place actually requiring me to get out of bed and reach for it to wake me up... sadly I often hit snooze and lay back down like 5 times and oversleep anyway.... I'm suuuuuuper at sleeping... and bad at being on time... so yea

@ Benji - Perfect way to put it.

@ Derek - Vibrates and beeps rapidly sounds kind of like this: http://www.monroefd.com/sounds/monroefdpager.wav and then some guy with a pleasing baritone voice tells me what I'm responding to.

I think it's actually the sound that gets the adrenaline pumping which wakes me up.

Smart asses all of you! Obviously curious to know why PVL's fire department pager was more successful than his alarm clock.

It doesn't matter what alarm clock I use, nothing will wake me up. My fire department pager will wake me up in a split second at 4am any day though.
