Slowly and surely, Box.net continues to up the ante when it comes to free online file storage. Over on the Box.net Blog, the team has announced it’s latest feature which allows users to email file attachments to accounts. Doing so will upload respective files and drop them into a convenient folder titled “Uploads from Email”.

Now you can upload files by sending attachments to your Box! Just email upload@box.net with the file or files that you’d like to store or share, and they’ll arrive in a newly created folder called “Uploads from email.” For now, while we’re still testing, you can only send attachments from your registered account email, however we’ll soon enable a whitelist to let you add your mobile phone number or other email addresses that you want accept files from.

Note that at this time, files may only be uploaded via “registered” email addresses. If you missed out on the previous news, Box.net recently updated their service to include a sharing widget which can be embedded into personal pages.

I used to use box.net, before I was on dialup. Boooooo!

Their features are nice, I remember being frusterated with some things about it when I was using it though. Hopefully (if they are still around) when I get back on highspeed, they have made some changes.
