Microsoft loves recycling old code, and with that relics of ancient programs have been carried from one version of Windows to another. Discover these hidden programs by simply accessing the Start > Run command.

    They’re not all hidden. perfmon.exe is just the Performance Monitor which can be found in the Control Panel under the Administrator section.

    windowsXP has a buit in messenging program for web instant messaging (like mac os X) its called Windows messenger.

    AFAIK, Windows Messenger has no “Bonjour” type features – what RO31E5 is referring to is iChat’s ability to locate other people using iChat on the network and add them to your contact list without you needing to add them yourself.

    This feature seems to be available in winchat.exe demoed in the video, which shows people in your work group.
