Picnik

There’s a new online image editor on the street and it’s going by the name of Picnik. The new service promises all the right features packaged and presented into a stylish online web service.

  • Seamless access to your Flickr account
  • One-click photo fixes
  • Real-time adjustments
  • Crop, rotate, and resize
  • Artistic photo effects

At this time, Picnik photo editing is limited to Flickr. Additionally, users may upload images from their computers, search for images via Yahoo or Flickr, get specific images off the web, and edit image captured with webcams. Any edits can then be uploaded directly to Flickr. The service is currently offered as a beta and interested parties may request a signup link via the front page – Picnik.

This is Interesting. However, I have to wonder what a user would have to give up in order to use this service? Does picnik attempt to take the rights to a user’s pictures? But I suppose that anyone who would use an online image editor probably doesn’t have too many high quality pictures that anyone would be interested in stealing.
