Thirty days between charges on a laptop, yea sure – right!
Samsung, thinks it is possible! They have developed a fuel cell to accompany the ultra portable Q35 notebook. Although this fuel cell is not tiny, per say, but it is claimed to come with 12000Wh capacity, offering up to a full month of usage (an average of 8 hours per day) from a single cartridge.
That is insanity, if true. However, unfortunately nobody has ever seen this product, and we know that most of the time manufacturers battery life claims are usually greatly exaggerated. I think laptop users will rejoice if they can even go just a 24 hour period without hunting for an outlet.

pretty old news.. :)
I am a nostalgic person :)
fuel cell tech is soooo 19th century http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_cell#History
My idea for the greatest laptop power of the future is…………drumroll please
Kinetic charging batteries. I’m surely not the only person that has come up with that before.
Just think of it though. When you’re commuting, the vibrations from whatever form of transit you use would provide a decent charge. then you place the laptop on your lap of all places, and the tiny vibrations from your body and the internal components of the unit itself would provide more. Now that I spelled that out, it sounds a little like perpetual energy which we ALL know doesn’t exist.
Oh well, at least it’s off my chest now.
The first thing that came to mind when you said kinetic laptop battery were those emergency flashlights that you shake for 30 seconds and receive a few hours of use. I just imagined seeing my battery icon showing that I should charge and quickly closing the lid and shaking the laptop a few times before like a shake ‘n bake kit then opening and resuming where I left off.
