Don’t you love cheesy gratuitous graphics? Now that I have your attention, Derek and I quietly rolled out a new feature called “The Beat“. It is designed to get the reader involved in the comment activity that is happening on the site (Did you know that comment activity on older stories eclipses the activity on new stories?).

By clicking over to “The Beat’s” designated subsite, you can see a queue of stores that have been commented on in the last 24 hours and see not only the stories title, but a excerpt of comments and total comment count.

This feature has quickly become one of my favorite features, and I hope everyone will enjoy it as much as Derek and I do.
