  1. Ruddy says:

    Am I missing something? LOL

  2. Adam Potts says:

Oh c’mon! That had EVERYTHING to do with digital music and absolutely NOTHING to do with strange phallic creatures swapping organs! :P

  3. Ronald Poi says:

Come on guys, is that you don’t understand?… Zune it’s about sharing, so when you find another Zune user you can share your organs with them… everyone needs more eyes…

  4. Mikey says:

    Haha, a penis

  5. Dan says:

That was exactly what I thought, Mikey!

  6. Wash Jones says:

Wow… I can see apple next line of commercials:

    “Hi, I’m an iPod”

    “And I’m a Penis…er… Zune.”

  7. emory says:

    wow
just… wow I think that’s WORSE than the ps3 ads.. no wait, not quite. It didn’t have a demonic baby doll. *shivers*

  8. Alex B says:

Yeah, Microsoft, thats neat looking and all, but what about the majority of everyone that either doesn’t know much about Zune, or the few that never heard of Zune before? and also what about those (me for one) who know Zune is a mp3 player, but doesn’t have a clue about its sharing features, or any other features?

The only way anyone would understand this whole sharing idea of this ad to already know that Zunes can share music files, so therefore this advertisement fails to advertise the sharing feature of Zune to those who do not currently know about it. And what else could a ’sharing eyes’ advertisement for Zune be about?

Isn’t the point of advertisements focusing on a cretin feature of a device is to inform those who do not know of it, so that they are more likely to buy the product because of that feature they like.

Sorry Microsoft, you FAIL at advertising, period. PLEASE get a new advertising agency.

  9. Alex B says:

and to add to my last comment, and to compare it to the PS3 ads: The PS3 ads were at least somewhat effective of an ad, promoting the “power” of it by making it look like it has super powers, lol

This Zune one is just the most ineffective, pointless, and dumbest commercial ever. and the creatures are ugly.

  10. Dan says:

    Emory –

    You mean this one?

  11. Kevin says:

It would have made it so much better if they had wrote something like “Sharing is good” at the end of that.

  12. Alex B says:

I might have just figured out what Microsoft idea for this ad was. It could be to have everyone ask “what the hell is this?”, therefore creating discussion and talk about the ad, which will in turn put Zune more into the public’s awareness, therefore effective advertising, in some twisted way

  13. Brendan says:

I get what they were aiming at. But it didn’t work. And I have heard bad things about the Zune, and yes, iPod is a better choice, but the Zune is actually pretty attractive, and although the menus are a little bit flawed, I find them navigatable.

I’m not a reliable choice though, I just looked at it in Target (you know, they had it out so you could flip around in it).

  14. Mikey says:

NOOOOOOOOOOO….not the doll again. *cries in the corner*

  15. Dan says:

Well that is they thought – but the Zune is really trash. DON’T BUY IT!

  16. biga says:

ohmaigawd, scary dolly again RUN AWAY! But yea… some one REALLY needs to a) slap Microsoft for that wtf commercial and b) make a apple commercial

  17. Matt says:

quite a few ipod adverts in the UK are a bit like this. Its got some album art ansing around on the screen than goes to a white screen with the apple logo in the middle. If you dont know what an ipod is you got no hope.

    Zune advert = HA Penis

PS3 Advert = SHIT!!! Run away!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Matt says:

Oh and this ad beats the posted one hands down:

  19. Mark says:

i kind of wish that cookie commercial was an actual cartoon. i’d watch it. it looks like something tim burton put together. it looks cool.

i don’t know about the “iPenis” thing though.

  20. emory says:

at leas the cookie commercial makes more sense than this wtf ad.
    *ZOMG DEMONIC BABY!!!!111one!*

  21. Roy says:

so exactly how does micro$oft with huge loyality to the nazi riaa expect the allow sharing of music? or is this the point they are trying to avoid us seeing with all the stupid ads?

  22. ClaMs says:

The basic concept, but the way it progressed is disastrous.

Can you imagine MS’ marketing guys going “I know, and then the creature with tons of eyes plops one of his eyes into the other one. We must make sure that we get a shot of his clenched arse”

I think Steve Jobs would say that these ads reflect Microsoft’s lack of culture.

  23. R031E5 says:

What the hell is this?! Yeah, an iPennis.

I think that microsoft is trying to create a somewhat “interesting” add, but somehow this is just plain odd, I mean, I get all the sharing concept but… uhm… well I didn’t like it!

And talking about weirdness, this can be the 2nd place after the *shivers* PS3 babydoll *shivers*

  24. dov says:

    Holy $#!T.. WTF was that??
    it’s kinda gay btw..

  25. Artego says:

    Aren’t these fan-based ads? There found at zune-arts.net I thought they weren’t official MS ads… if they are… well…

  26. Dan says:

From what I was told this is a legit “viral” ad that Microsoft hoped would propigate on the internet.
