AT&T / BellSouth Merger Approved by FCC

After some expanded concessions on AT&T’s behalf, the FCC approved the merger of AT&T and BellSouth. The concessions include some form of ‘guaranteed’ network neutrality in its network, the availability of ADSL service at up to 768 Kbps as a stand-alone, non-bundled (read: naked) offering for $19.95 per month, with no expiry date as of yet.
AT&T and BellSouth (who owns Cingular) will also have to divest some wireless spectrum.
Oh and I forgot to mention:
The Cingular brand eventually will die and actually become AT&T Wireless — the very brand it paid billions to acquire.
Everyone remember how wonderful AT&T wireless was :)
