Get Rid of Those Gift Cards
This post was published 3 years 2 months 23 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. This holiday season did you get a gift card to Crate and Barrel when all you wanted was a gift card to the Home Depot. Last year over $43 million of gift cards went unclaimed, mostly due to lack of interest. Instead of settling with the card you don’t want, you can now swap it – thanks to an website dedicated to exchanging unwanted gift cards.
Swapagift.com has two easy options to offload your unwanted plastic. The website will buy the cards from you for up to 70% of its value if it is from a top tier provider (Home Depot, Target, Best Buy, etc) and give you cash once the card has been verified. All this is also done without the need for unnecessary user registration.
The second option is to register on the website and “swap” your gift card with another member using the SwapAGift service. This is all done without a fee, and with SwapAGift trying their best to verify the balance on all the gift cards before they get exchanged.
So, if you got bombarded with gift cards you didn’t want this holiday season, give these guys a look – and if you see a gift card for Aristotle’s House of Gyros, thats me.
This is a great idea! I have about 100 dollars in Best Buy cards, and I ahte buying stuff at bb!
Their site claims otherwise for the SwapAGift part:
A Listing Fee of $3.99 will be required to list a card. Your card listing will stay active on the site for 150 days or until your card sells or swaps.
Cards will be listed in our database immediately upon payment verification
Hmm, I’ve got $500 to the Apple Store and $100 to Hollister, I think I’ll keep mine =)
hehe, I saw this on the morning news today too :)
