Comments on: Jawbone Bluetooth headset now available

I got mine yesterday and have been wearing and using it all day today and I agree with pretty much everyone here:

– the fit is TERRIBLE, they obviously paid more attention to form than function
– the (non)buttons are annoying
– it’s horribly uncomfortable and makes my ear hurt
– the noise cancellation, in my voicemail tests, worked pretty well but not as well as on their web site
– since it doesn’t seat in your ear canal, you can’t hear the person on the other end even in only a mildly noisy environment.

I’m going to give it another couple days but I foresee sending this thing back until they can incorporate the cutting-edge features into a sensible and comfortable design.

I agree with most people, the noice cancelation works pretty well but the headset is not confortable to wear and voice quality on my end is just average. The Plantronics 655 is the most confortable and with better voice quality headset I have tried so far, but the noise cancelation is a big plus for me being in the car a lot, I think the most important thing in a BT heaset is that the other party can hear you well and I can hear OK, just not with the best sound quality………….I am keeping mine.

Can the Jawbone bluetooth headset be used for input into the Drangonspeak Speech Recognition Program? If so, what else would also be needed? Some kind of base unit to make my desk-top computer bluetooth-capable?

I just bought the Jawbone yesterday. So far the headset works better than any headset (bluetooth or wired)I have used with my Treo 650. In fact, it works better than just using the Treo 650 with no headset. The Jawbone worked well in my car with the radio at medium level on surface streets. Also, my car is very noisy because it has very little soundproofing (Subaru STI). The real test will be using it on a bumpy freeway with the radio on.

cant find this on ebay, really dont like listing things unless i have an idea of whats its going for on ebay aka completed listings. if i can get like 170 id be happy to post it.
it does go in the ear canal but wen you have loud environments you can barley hear granted it has a 6 level sound adjusted, the other paty can hear you but you cant hear to well, sucks

Kane, doesn’t sound like the Jawbone is living up to the hype. I checked out eBay a few minutes ago. I’d consider tossing it up there since some areas are hard up on locating available stock of the unit. Good point about actually hearing the other person in a loud environment. Might have been a good idea if they included some type of piece to insert into the ear canal.

Scelestus, chances are that this headset – as with any Bluetooth 1.1+ device – pairs just fine in OS X.

Yeh it does cancel noise, but what does that do for me in loud environments????
It is very uncomfortable, I live in chicago so if anyone wants mine to buy it off me before I take it back feel free to email me and come pick this up, I still have the receipt. kane7753@yahoo.com

Point being

Pros
Cancels noise well
Works great if you want someone to hear “YOU” clear on “THIER” phone

Cons
Very uncomfortable even with the adjustments that it comes with
Not worth 120$
Does nothing for me If I am in a noisy environment
No easy turn off, Cant fold and close have to manually turn off
Does not work well at all in windy environments aka Downtown Chicago

I will wait till something with a bit more louder ear piece and a more comfortable cusion comes out before I even try this again.

Sorry guys this 150$ item was a real disapointment to me
