The Jawbone Bluetooth headset is readying for shipment. For those impatient to wait for full availability, check your local Cingular retail store for the silver version. The $120 Jawbone Bluetooth headset is available in silver, black, and red.
I’ve ordered mine, look for a full review as I put this military grade headset through a few conversations in loud environments.

I look forward ot seeing your review on this headset. I am a heavy ppc user and am on the phone non stop…..If this works as well as it says it does i cant wait to get one for my xv6700. I hope battery life and wearbility are good. sure looks large and as if it wont stay put.
Ive used this headset today in a server data center and it worked great, but when i was walking downtown in chicago today the jawbone was complete crap with windy environments, nice noise filtering, the way it feels and wraps around your ear is very very aggravating, I will be takin this POFS back to the store and gettin the “Soundid Bluetooh headset”

Also I noticed alot of cutting in and out with this, I used this with my Blackberry 8700G, this is not what i expected,
Ouch. Kane, let’s hope that isn’t the case when I get around to testing it. I viewed an interview with the creator and the idea stressed was that you could use this headset in your car with the stereo turned up and the other person you’re speaking to would only hear your voice. We’ll see if those types of claims are nothing but a way to hype up the product.
OMG!! I saw this posting last night, and had to have one today. So I went and got one. I’m not sure about the wind noise and the jawbone website even says it can’t cancel wind noise… but then what device can?
This thing works as advertised. I was driving around with the radio at various levels of loudness, from quiet to comfortably loud (so loud I’d have a hard time hearing a person sitting next to me in the same car). Even when talking at a lower volume then the music, the person on the other end could still hear me clearly. I was frequently asked “ok, when are you going to start the music?”.
The ear peice is a bit unconfortable, and is not made of that nice soft silicon. But given the advantages of Noise-is-Nothing, I have to say this is the best implementation of noise canceling yet.
I’m keeping mine.

You’re lucky Roy. Local Cingular stores here reported that the Jawbones sold out within an hour of getting them in. A bunch of geeks in Seattle I guess (everyone must have been looking at the Jawbones.com website).
Yeh it does cancel noise, but what does that do for me in loud environments????

I will wait till something with a bit more louder ear piece and a more comfortable cusion comes out before I even try this again.

Would this work with a PC or just a phone? I am looking for a Bluetooth headset for my Macbook and this looks great.
Kane, doesn’t sound like the Jawbone is living up to the hype. I checked out eBay a few minutes ago. I’d consider tossing it up there since some areas are hard up on locating available stock of the unit. Good point about actually hearing the other person in a loud environment. Might have been a good idea if they included some type of piece to insert into the ear canal.
Scelestus, chances are that this headset – as with any Bluetooth 1.1+ device – pairs just fine in OS X.
It reminds me of a Microplane grater.

it does go in the ear canal but wen you have loud environments you can barley hear granted it has a 6 level sound adjusted, the other paty can hear you but you cant hear to well, sucks
I just bought the Jawbone yesterday. So far the headset works better than any headset (bluetooth or wired)I have used with my Treo 650. In fact, it works better than just using the Treo 650 with no headset. The Jawbone worked well in my car with the radio at medium level on surface streets. Also, my car is very noisy because it has very little soundproofing (Subaru STI). The real test will be using it on a bumpy freeway with the radio on.
Can the Jawbone bluetooth headset be used for input into the Drangonspeak Speech Recognition Program? If so, what else would also be needed? Some kind of base unit to make my desk-top computer bluetooth-capable?

I agree with most people, the noice cancelation works pretty well but the headset is not confortable to wear and voice quality on my end is just average. The Plantronics 655 is the most confortable and with better voice quality headset I have tried so far, but the noise cancelation is a big plus for me being in the car a lot, I think the most important thing in a BT heaset is that the other party can hear you well and I can hear OK, just not with the best sound quality………….I am keeping mine.
I got mine yesterday and have been wearing and using it all day today and I agree with pretty much everyone here:
– the fit is TERRIBLE, they obviously paid more attention to form than function
– the (non)buttons are annoying
– it’s horribly uncomfortable and makes my ear hurt
– the noise cancellation, in my voicemail tests, worked pretty well but not as well as on their web site
– since it doesn’t seat in your ear canal, you can’t hear the person on the other end even in only a mildly noisy environment.
I’m going to give it another couple days but I foresee sending this thing back until they can incorporate the cutting-edge features into a sensible and comfortable design.
