Sarah Media Front Row Clone

As sad attempt to emulate Apple’s Front Row for Windows users? Or, a strong alternative for Windows Media Center users (assuming development continues in order to create a stronger release)? You decide.

Head on over to OSX-e and grab a copy of the what is being dubbed as “Sarah Media”. Judging by the comments, the installer lacks a true English setup guide. If you’re looking for the steps scroll down and you’ll find the answer(s). Sarah Media claims to provide playback functionality for movies, music, and pictures [essentially a Front Row clone].

The release seems to be a bit unstable so proceed with caution.

I installed it, changed the language to US and started the program. It’s extremely slow and I couldn’t get it to do anything other than load a movie.

There is no installer. The app installed itself in my Firefox directory the first time.

I really hope they continue development on this because it could be a great substitute for WMC.

Side Note: I just noticed my taskbar is gone after running the program. Hmm…

Mircosoft owns part of apple, so your basically in my opinion knocking apple. so just stop it.

Kyle – I don’t see any slam towards Microsoft here, from what I read Derek is saying this either this third party add on is a good/poor replacement for the WMC interface.

If anything it is an add-on for Windows. And for the record both Derek and I run Windows full time on our MacBook Pro’s

Kyle don’t cry. No where in the post was there any type of bitching. I said alternative. You sound a little sensitive.

Here, how about we call it even and I share my feelings that Front Row as a media controller on OS X is piss poor and that users should check out something like MediaCentral from the fine folks at Equinux.

Dan’s right about running windows on a regular basis. Parallels is constantly open for testing while working.

Hey, if you guys are having trouble changing the language, go into C:\Program Files\Sarah Media (might be in a different folder), there is a language folder with instructions to translate it.
