Mother arrests her child for opening a present too early
A mother had her 12-year-old son arrested for rummaging through his great-grandmother’s things and playing with his Christmas present early.
The mother called police Sunday after learning her son had disobeyed orders and repeatedly taken a Game Boy from its hiding place at his great-grandmother’s house next door and played it.
Now arresting the child may seem a little harsh, but the mother thinks it will teach the child an important lesson. The Mother said he faces expulsion at his school for taking a swing at a police officer.

That last sentence leads me to believe maybe there was something more going on with that kid then just playing his gameboy.

“The mother told police that the boy has a history of bad behavior, including shoplifting from stores and stealing money from her. The mother said he even punched a police officer last month and was arrested for disorderly conduct for it.”
Off to a great start.

Yeah, I agree with mackmack. Even the article says how the kid’s got something wrong with him. Trying to get him is a bit severe, but I can kind of see where the mother’s coming from.

No doubt, this kid isn’t exactly a mothers wish, but come on. This isn’t the police’ responsibility.
It is very obvious to me that the problem comes from bad parenting. The fact that she pushes him away at the age of 12 will only make him hate and disobey her more.
(sorry for bad spelling)

Wow…. and all my brother got for searching around for his present last year was a sore foot when I closed the wardrobe door on it….

I recall reading a story where some minor’s mum had him arrested and on his way to jail, he was killed.
