Assuming every blogger in their lifetime decides at some point to hang the reins of publishing from a free supported blogging platform, having a link that explains the steps necessary to move from Blogger to WordPress may come in handy some time down the road. Let’s all reminisce about the good ‘ol days. Heck, I started blogging on Blogger. This very site had its early early beginnings rooted in the service as well (man that was a long time ago).

For anyone that has relied on Blogger for their publishing needs, rest assured that your readers will still find you (even if they’re not subscribed via RSS) with this handy walk-through: Moving from Blogger to WordPress: Best Practices.

The tutorial outlines everything from saving your template, backing-up your posts, importing data into your WordPress, preparations for URL redirects from Blogger, and template modifications. Check out the rest of the tutorial in its full context if you’re tempted to make the switch to a more flexible blogging platform.
