For non-private browser bookmarks, I turn to del.icio.us. With convenient access from any computer connected to the internet, what’s not to like? No extraneous advertising bloat, graphics, or features. Convenient tagging for organizing and the ability to share places this web service near the top of my list. Note that del.icio.us does offer the option for marking certain saves as “private” (hidden from public view).

Unfortunately, as convenient as tagging can be, results often span multiple pages making it somewhat cumbersome to browse through bookmarks. Fortunately, Ian Henderson created a convenient utility which allows OS X users to search a locally indexed version of their collection using Spotlight. The utility queries your bookmark collection automatically every 30 minutes and makes use of the title, tags, and description fields for searching.
