Google Docs supports email file uploads

Similar to Flickr, Google Docs now provides an even easier method of uploading documents to its web based service via email [via]. The unique email address generated for each user is still pointing to Writely (strange that Google has yet to make that a Google Doc address). From the email upload FAQ, users can send emails – subject line will be the title, email body the document body – or attachments with future support for spreadsheets. If emails with attachments are sent in, the email body (text) will be ignored.

I can attest to the convenience of such a feature due to the incredible number of Word documents that I have amassed in my Gmail account. So how many users are on Google Docs for their text editing needs? I personally use the service for project / collaborative efforts.

  1. I saw this the other day and tested it with zero success. Maybe I just caught’em early. And I’ve exorcised all Microsoft Office software from my laptop — a big part of that due in large part to Google Docs.
