Those are your DVD’s, do what you want then!

Does the latest news from the MPAA-front have you feeling a little blue? You know, the story about the MPAA opening a lawsuit against DVD-to-iPod service Load ‘N Go Video (official site seems to be down). Personally, I saw nothing wrong with a service that offers both DVD’s and iPods – offering to load the purchases on to DVD’s for customers. Unfortunately, the MPAA doesn’t like the sound of such a service.

Fortunately, we can all raise our fists, shaking them at the MPAA hounds, and do what Load ‘N Go does for ourselves. Thanks to MAKE, we can all convert our own DVD purchases for viewing on those convenient little video iPods. For OS X users, check out the conversion steps using my personal favorite – Handbrake. On the other side, Windows users can make use of the super convenient 1-click DVD rip from Lifehacker.
