How did I or anyone miss this announcement? Woot is currently holding a “woot-off”. What is that all about? Quite simply put, the electronics clearance type service is selling hardware at considerable price discounts. The catch? Items change without notice meaning that in order for you to grab the best deals on whatever is being offered, you’d better refresh your browser every now and then. The current Woot product on sale is a Western Digital 10,000 RPM 80GB (SATA) drive for $85! Not too shabby a deal for a blazing fast hardrive if you ask me.

Woot off

I may have joined in on the discount buys late, but I’ll be damned if I miss something worth picking up at a deep discount before the end of the day comes around. The trick to know when the deals are going to change? Watch the blinking lights & status bar for product changes (availability).

I also use this website to keep me constantly updated during a woot off:

    http://yellowbkpk.com/wootcheck.html

it uses Ajax, cache, and auto refreshes every 15 seconds. Better than sitting at my computer and hitting refresh over and over.

    why hit refresh?

I use firefox and a plugin that can make a page auto-refresh at an interval that you define.

I’ve been a wooter for a long time, and I love them. They also tend to be fairly Mac friendly, at least with letting people know what is and what is not compatible.

Fast cheap shipping, well priced products, I’m a loyal wooter.

Thanks guys. Pro wooters I guess :) I’ll have to use some of the aforementioned links to stay on top of deals.
