Thailand is in desperate need of upgrades

Thailand communications

I think it’s safe to assume that Thailand is in desperate need of a communications upgrade. Haphazard wiring can’t be safe for anyone. I can’t imagine the chaos if a negligent driver decides to take his tall vehicle through the city only to rip down cables at every turn. See the rest of the images – an IT Specialists nightmare. If contracted, would you take on the burden of cleaning up the wiring mess?

and I thought the back of my computer was bad!

I was gonna say the architecture in the back of that picture looks like what I’ve seen in India, but then I visited the link. Lo and behold, the pictures are NOT from Thailand but from India. I guarantee it. How can I tell? Um, a bunch of dark brown people walking the streets? The writing on the signs is also not in Thai, but Hindi. Not to mention, I can also see the a number of kite remains on the lines, which is a common site in India since kite flying is hugely popular.

“since kite flying is hugely popular.”

And has also been very dangerous lately (for obvious reasons).

wonder how well their ADSL works in their country :P

haha … I have to visit india…. between bad infstructure planning and kite flying being all the rage it sounds like a stand up place to get down!

I work in Thailand and have been unfortunate enough to have been to India a few times.

The pictures are clearly India / Pakistan / Bangladesh but certainly not Thailand.

If you look closely there are also posters of Bollywood movies on the walls.

All that being said, Thailand does have a similar problem but not to this extent.

BTW unfortunately the best affordable ADSL speeds here are 512k up /2.5MB down giving 230kbps download speeds(if your lucky and wind is blowing in the right direction) for about 60$US a month.

Looks like a server room before I rewired it: http://pjllobell.com/images/sf001.jpg

It’s not Thailand, it’s India, so change the misleading title.
