OS X AppleScript to tidy up your Desktop

Noticed this handy little AppleScript shared on MacOSXHints today. For anyone who routinely drops assorted files on to their Desktop – rather than taking the time to setup a solid file management routine – the AppleScript sorts through files and moves them to their correct folders (Pictures, Movies, Documents, etc). The AppleScript sorts files based on file extensions.

Think of the script as your own personal file butler for cleaning up the clutter on your desktop. Unfortunately, now that your Desktop is clutter free, you’ll have to go through and make sure each respective Home folder is organized.
