Gmail message view featuresAfter rubbing my eyes and looking twice – to make sure I wasn’t seeing something that was already available – I noticed that Gmail added a few small features to its message pane view for emails. Messages no take on more of a mail client look with the “Details View” offering a cleaner presentation of ‘from’, ‘to’, ‘date’, ’subject’, and ‘mailed by’ fields. In addition, the right uppermost corner of messages now sports a more convenient drop down menu for accessing such options as the ‘Reply’, ‘Forward’, ‘Add to contacts’, and ‘Report as phishing’. It’s minor interface enhancements such as these that remind me why I continue to use a webmail client over all else.

  1. That feature doesn’t seem to work too well on Safari.

they also added a notification when there are new messages in the thread you’re currently reading/replying to and the ability to forward an entire discussion (thread) in one email

Now if only they’d add IMAP support

IMAP support would be a blessing… I’m still holding my breath for the service to offer that type of functionality to users.
